Associate Spotlight: Alex and Courtney

Swagelok Northwest (US) has some impressive associates in our ranks. From marathon runners, to professional deep sea fishing. Our associates live incredible lives. The Associate Spotlight series aims to highlight the talented individuals who work here. Each month, we’ll be featuring an interview here on the blog and on our social accounts.

For this month’s Associate Spotlight, we’re featuring: Alex Tran, an Accounts Receivable Clerk from the Portland branch, and Courtney Bartlett, a Customer Service Representative based out of the Seattle branch.

When are you happiest?
Alex: I'm happiest when I'm out and about in a social setting with a group of friends, hanging out, eating, having fun festivities... Playing sports when I was younger, but as I got older, my body hurts!

Who is the wisest person you've ever met?
Courtney: I don't know... I'm going to have to be corny and say my Dad. I was raised by just my Dad for a lot of my life. The person I am is because of him.

If you were a Swagelok product, what would you be?
Alex: I would be one of the ALD valves because I want to be the most expensive.

Would you rather fly or be invisible?
Courtney: Flying. 100%. I'm so bad with time... Everybody knows it... Everybody Knows it. I'm late to everything. Time management is not my forte. It's my weakness, for sure.

Do you believe in Bigfoot?
Alex: I didn't before I met Brent Hendrix (one of our Technical Service Representatives)... He started convincing me of things. He has mugs everywhere. Robin (our HR Generalist) has a mug of Bigfoot... So I believe in Bigfoot, Yeti, or whatever you call him, Sasquatch. I believe.

Are you a hunter or a gatherer?
Courtney: A Gatherer I guess? I don't like the idea of hunting. I'm ok with other people doing it, I eat meat, so it's fine by me... But I don't think I could do it. So I would just like to gather the vegetables and things.

If you could learn a new skill instantly what would it be?
Alex: To be able to cure the Coronavirus.

Stay tuned for more Associate Spotlights.
